Update 15 June 2008. It turned out that the formula used to calculate the average was wrong, as it averaged 5 even when the grade was something like 4.55. I have adjusted the formula, and now it shows different results, with some of the people who had 5 now getting a 4. Besides, I have added some more posts from Maria Pop and Mihaela Topan. I have also decided to award our conference presenters 1 full bonus point. All these changes have been highlighted in red in the following UPDATED RESULTS:
Group A and Group B. And exact details of forum activitiy grading. As for the people who will have to take the exam again:And for all of you I have a message on the forum.
0. Sorry for you, people. You look like ou were so touched by my speech last week that you wanted us to meet again ;-)
1. I have positively altered the formula so that now, getting a 5 for the seminar is no longer a condition for a pass grade. If you have 6 in the exam and 4 in the seminar, then the formula will average 5, and you are OK. Similarly, if you have 4,5 in the seminar, you only need 5,5 for the exam.
2. For the re-exam, you may come on Monday at 10, to either take it or decide upon a later date.
3. For the seminar, we should meet for 1-2 hours and have a discussion whose aim will be to prove that you have read (some) of the books and have developed an opinion on thet. Alternatively, you may also post on the forum, but only until Tuesday, at 10 p.m.
